15th Street – Exterior Painting

The house and garage were both painted a bright gold on the bottom and white on the top.  The house has some very cool lines and molding that with the correct paint colors could really be accentuated and look neat.  So…..we picked out some colors to paint and began the process.

House and Garage Before Pictures

House Painting – October 8, 14-15, 2008

We started off by prepping the house and garage with power washing, scraping, caulking, priming and then taping.  Since the house has some cool lines to it, we are going to paint the bottom and 12” border on top first with a darker green color then come back and paint the middle section with a lighter green.

Bottom and top that were painted have been taped and ready for the second color or middle !

Here we go, the second color or middle of the house.

And…..we’ve pulled off the taping and paper for the end result!  Okay, it’s not the FINAL end result.  We need to come back and touch up a bottom area, paint the trim, windows, panes, etc.  But….we are close.

October 23-25, 2009

Now that the house is painted, it’s time to do the trim.   We decided on a brownish red color and want to at least get the doors and windows framed in before the weather turns bad.  We will be replacing the windows in the Spring time, so whether their framing is white or cream, this will be the final accent color.  Then after the windows are replaced, we’ll be doing some additional trimming around the house with the brown and white/cream.  But….that is not til next year  : )  For this year, this is the final exterior painting of the house.
