15th Street House
Hot Tub pad
When we moved into our new old house, we temporarily put our hottub (Softtub) in the back. Since then we have built a fence on the side and wanted to put the tub there for a little more privacy. We decided against doing a permanent concrete pad and wanted something that would be flexible and easy to dissemble if we needed to. This is a pressure treated frame with roadmix, sand, and concrete 6x12 as the base. This project was lead by Craig with Holly and Bailey as his assistants : )

Holly dug out the existing dirt and prepared the area for Craig to take over. Here he is determining the level of the hot tub pad frame.

The frame goes in and is level

This is road mix that we unloaded and dumped into the frame area. Holly shoveled, Craig unloaded and evened out,
Bailey supervised.

Craig then dumped sand, tamped, and leveled it. He then put down the concrete 6.x12 blocks.

In addition to the hot tub pad, Craig needed to run electrical to the area. This involved digging a trench from the house to the corner of the hot tub pad and then putting in pvc pipe to run the wiring. With this accomplished, he was able to drain, move, and fill the tub! We still need to continue the paver walkway from the back of the house around the hot tub and to the front fence and gate. This is ONE of the next projects!
Below is the finished hot tub pad area. When the pavers get completed, I’ll add some pictures of that.
