July 16 - 19, 2018:  Peachland and Kamloops,
British Columbia (BC)
July 16 - 17, 2018:  Peachland, BC

Our next stop was at Kamloops, BC.  However, we did not want to travel that far in one day and be rushed, so we decided to stop and stay a night in Peachland, BC.  We used Boondockers Welcome to find a host to stay with.  Boondockers Welcome is a sight that lets you find a spot to spend one to a few nights in your RV at someone's house for free.  Most of the hosts are fellow RV'ers that have room on their property for you to boondock.  So...we stayed at Gord and Charlie's house in Peachland.  They were both great hosts and we had a LOT in common with them.  They invited us to stay for a few more days, but unfortunately, we had commitments in Kamloops and our schedule didn't allow it.  Gord and Charlie are one block off the beach of Lake Okanagan and had an excellent location for restaurants.  We arrived around 7pm and visited with Charlie on the front porch then took a nice stroll along the boardwalk.  In the morning we went to Bliss Bakery for breakfast and then hit the road to Kamloops.  Peachland is a really cute little town that rims the lake.  As a side note, it was 103f during our travels to Peachland.

On our way to Peachland, we traveled through Osoyoos, BC and stopped at the Desert Model Railroad.  This was VERY cool!  It is all miniature model railroads.  The displays were so detailed and had every type of scenarios or display you could imagine.  We saw a snow ski hill with skiers and running gondola, a wedding, funeral, graveyard, bar fight, zoo, amusement park, bicycle vs. car accident, forest fire, multiple house fires, airport, flying helicopters/airplanes, seaworld, monster truck racing, hospital, rodeo, army training camp, concert, horse racing, skating rink, motorcycle park, kayakers, sailboats, miners (open pit and tunnel), campers, even some free love naked hippies!  Whew....it was well worth the stop!  As a side note it was 107f during our travels to Osoyoos.

Just for you Mom and Dad : )

Between Osoyoos and Oliver, BC there are a TON of wineries!  Unfortunately, we did not have time to stop, but if you are a wine lover I would highly recommend spending a few days here doing wine tours and tasting!

Thank you Gord and Charlie for your wonderful hospitality!!!

July 17 - 19, 2018:  Kamloops, BC

On our way from Peachland to Kamloops, we stopped in Vernon at Davison Orchards for lunch and to buy fruit. What a great view, good lunch, and good fruit!

In Kamloops, BC we stayed with our friends Fern and Gary (had electric power).  They winter in the Los Barriles (close to our property) and summer in Kamloops.  We had a great visit with Fern and Gary and they helped us run some much needed errands and restock.

Thank you Fern and Gary for your wonderful hospitality!!!
