May 18 - 20, 2019: Conroe Texas
Our next stop on the trip was to Conroe, Texas to visit Craig's Uncle Gary and family. I have met some of them one time before years ago, so a visit was way over due! We spent a few days here just enjoying the area. It was hot and humid and even more so with the storms in the area. Welcome to the South!

On the drive from Austin to Conroe, we continued to be awed by the terrain of Texas. I never knew that Texas has green rolling hills, lakes, and rivers. What a beautiful State that I definitely want to come back and explore more!

Since we were driving smaller State highways, one of the many small towns we drove through.

There were storms in the area on this whole section of the trip, however, we managed to dodge them. This was the most rain we experienced.
We stayed a little North of Conroe in New Waverly, Texas at the Cagle Recreation Area which is on Lake Conroe. Lake Conroe is 21,000 acre lake and very popular for fishing, boating, and other water sports.

In this pic...no Craig has not just gotten out of the shower : )
He rearranged the back truck...again...to lighten our load and get some weight off the back bumper of the trailer.

We spent a day visiting and eating dinner with Gary and family. What a great visit catching up and AWESOME home cooked meal!!!
